Flexible cable

WE BUY FLEXIBLE CABLE AND PORTABLE CORD

Flexible cord does not live on a shelf; it lives in a gang box, a trailer or a storeroom, coiled and re-coiled until the jacket is scuffed at both ends.

We buy surplus SOOW, SJOOW, Type W and other portable power cable in Minnesota, in coils, partial reels and cut lengths, from plants, rental yards, contractors and event operations.

What we buy

  • SOOW and SJOOW portable cord, #18 AWG through #2 AWG
  • Type W, Type G and stage cable
  • 2, 3, 4 and 5 conductor constructions
  • 600V portable power and control cable
  • Cut lengths, coils, spools and partial reels
  • New surplus, unused stock and overstock

Flexible cable is quoted on conductor size, conductor count, jacket type and remaining length. The jacket print answers all four, so a clear photo of the print does most of the work.

What hurts a flexible cable lot

Cut ends, missing jackets, oil saturation, crushed coils and cable that has been used as a drag line. None of that automatically rules a lot out, but it changes the quote.

Send photos of the coils as stored and of any obvious damage. A photo of the worst coil is more useful than a description of the best one.

Where the surplus comes from

Rental yards retire cords that no longer meet their inspection standard. Factories keep spools of portable cord for equipment that was decommissioned. Contractors carry coils from job to job until the jacket is worn. Event and staging operations rotate cable after a season.

Each of those is a legitimate lot, and each should be described for what it is rather than presented as new surplus.

Pickup and consolidation

Flexible cable consolidates well: coils go into gaylords, spools go on pallets. A mixed pallet is fine as long as the contents are listed.

Tell us whether the load is at a dock, a storeroom or a job trailer. Small lots are often best combined with a larger wire pickup.

FAQ

Questions we get from sellers

Do you buy used SOOW cord?

Sometimes. It depends on jacket condition, remaining length and conductor size. Be specific about wear and send photos of the worst section.

Is cut flexible cable worth quoting?

Yes, in quantity. A single 20 ft tail is not, but a barrel of mixed cut lengths from a plant is a normal lot.

Do you buy welding cable?

Yes, welding cable is quoted with flexible cable and copper. State the size and whether the jacket is intact.

Send your wire details and photos

Fill in what you know and skip what you do not. Photos of the reel faces, cable tags and jacket printing do more for an accurate quote than a long description.

  • Tell us the metal, gauge or MCM, voltage and conductor count.
  • Give footage, reel count, coil count or weight if it is known.
  • Send photos of reel faces, tags, jacket legends and the full pile.
  • Note dock, forklift or loading limits so pickup goes smoothly.

Add up to 10 MB total across all photos. Reel faces, cable tags, jacket printing and the whole pile are the most useful shots.

Submissions go to saleselectricalbuyers@gmail.com with your photos attached. You will see a confirmation page once the form is sent. Every lot is reviewed on its details and photos; sending them is not a commitment to sell.

Sitting on reels you will not use?

Send the footage, the voltage and a few photos. We review the inventory, talk pricing and logistics, and arrange pickup or shipping when we agree.
