Start with the category that matches your inventory
Every category page explains what we look for, the sizes and constructions that come up most, and the details that make a quote accurate the first time. If your wire crosses two categories, pick either one and describe the mix.
THHN, THWN and building wire
600V copper or aluminum conductors in conduit, feeders and panel work, including partial reels from rough-ins.
Building wire detailsXHHW and XHHW-2
Cross-linked polyethylene wire in copper and aluminum for wet locations, feeders and services.
XHHW detailsMC and AC cable
Metal-clad and armored cable in coils and cartons, from branch rolls to feeder sizes.
MC and AC detailsTray, TC-ER and VFD cable
Tray-rated power and drive cable, including shielded VFD constructions and exposed runs.
Tray and VFD detailsControl and instrumentation
Multiconductor control, shielded instrument, thermocouple and PLC wiring in coils and spools.
Control cable detailsBare and insulated copper
Bare grounding copper, insulated copper conductors, welding cable and hook-up wire.
Copper detailsAluminum wire and cable
Aluminum service entrance, feeder and underground conductor: SER, SEU, URD and USE-2.
Aluminum detailsFlexible cable and cord
SOOW, SJOOW, Type W and other portable power cable from equipment and temporary power.
Flexible cable detailsLow-voltage and communication
Fire alarm, Cat 5e and Cat 6, coax, security and thermostat cable in boxes and partial pulls.
Low-voltage detailsMedium and high voltage
5kV through 69kV and above, EPR or XLPE, shielded and concentric neutral, on reels.
Medium-voltage detailsCommon conductor sizes and packaging
Most of what we buy, miniature control and communication wire aside, falls between #14 AWG and 1000 MCM. We take full and partial reels, wooden reels, spools, coils, cartons and loose inventory.
| Size | Where it usually comes from |
|---|---|
| #14, #12, #10 | Branch circuits, control, lighting and receptacles |
| #8, #6, #4, #2, #1 | Feeders, sub-panels, equipment drops and grounding |
| 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 4/0 | Service entrances, large feeders and temporary power |
| 250, 300, 350, 400 MCM | Industrial feeders, switchboard and transformer connections |
| 500, 600, 750, 1000 MCM | Plant distribution, utility work and heavy industrial runs |
The five details that produce a real number
Metal, size, voltage, conductor count and footage. Add condition and packaging and the picture is usually complete. If the footage is unknown, a reel count and a diameter estimate still help.
Quote detail checklist

- Copper, aluminum or copper-clad
- Size
- AWG or MCM, all sizes if the load is mixed
- Voltage
- 600V, 1kV, 5kV, 15kV, 25kV, 35kV, 69kV+
- Construction
- Insulation type, shielding, conductor count
- Quantity
- Footage, reel count, coil count or weight
- Condition
- New surplus, unused, overstock, partial, used, damaged
- Packaging
- Full reel, partial reel, spool, coil, carton, loose

Not every type, size or voltage is accepted in every condition. Every lot is reviewed on its details and photos.
What we do not buy
We keep this business to wire and cable. We do not buy transformers, switchgear, breakers, motor control centers, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery, vehicles or general scrap. If your load is wire plus that equipment, describe the wire and we will quote the wire.
Where it goes
Loads leave Minnesota shops, plants, distributor warehouses and job sites for our processing and resale channels. We handle the freight, the blocking and the paperwork once the price and the access are agreed, so a seller is not left managing a 4,000 lb reel.
FAQ
Questions we get from sellers
Can you quote from photos alone?
Photos plus a short description get you a useful answer. Reel tags and jacket printing usually carry the size, voltage and insulation, which is most of what we need. Footage still has to come from the tag, a measurement or your records.
Do you buy mixed loads?
Yes. Mixed loads are common after a project close-out. List each type and size separately with its own approximate quantity, and send a photo of the whole pile plus close-ups of each tag.
What if the wire is old or the jacket is marked?
Say so and photograph it. Age, sun fading, crushed reels and jacket damage affect value, but they do not automatically rule a lot out. We review condition per lot.
